Draft, 20 October 2026.
FocusHour helps students prepare for the digital SAT, in the FocusHour app on the web (getfocushour.com/app), with a weekly report for parents. This page says what we keep, why, who else sees it, and how to delete it. In short: we keep what's needed to teach and to report on the work, we don't show ads, we don't use analytics or tracking tools, and we don't sell or share anything about anyone for advertising.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address and name, and your Google account if you sign in with Google. When you sign in we keep a session, with the device's IP address and browser details, so you stay signed in.
- Your practice: each question you answer, the choice you made, how long it took, the help you used, and your notes after a class; your practice papers and their scores.
- Your working: what you write on the scratch pad, the screen as it was when you answered, and the screens the coach looked at when you asked it for help.
- Focus and use: when a session starts and ends, when you leave the app or pause, and which lesson films you watched and how much of them played.
- Your device: its model, operating system and browser, so we can fix problems.
- A parent's phone number, if a parent gives it for the weekly report. Nothing sends to it automatically.
- Payments: the plan you chose, the amount, when it was paid and until when it lasts, and for a monthly plan whether it renews. Card details are typed on Stripe's own page; we never see or keep a card number.
Before you sign in, work in the FocusHour app on the web is kept only in your own browser.
Why
To teach: to choose the next question at the right difficulty, to show you where points went and why, and to let the coach see your working when you ask for a hint. To report: a parent's weekly report is built from this work. To keep the service running: signing in, syncing between your devices, payments and fixing faults.
Who else sees it
Nothing leaves our service except to do these jobs:
- DeepSeek (an AI service) receives the question, your chosen answer and a picture of your working when you ask the coach for help or it reviews your answer, and your first name with facts from your week to write the short summary in a parent's report.
- Stripe takes card payments, so it receives the payer's email address, the plan and the amount, and the card details typed on its page. Stripe keeps its own record of each payment.
- Resend sends sign-in codes, so it receives your email address and the code.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Cloudflare hosts our servers, database and files, so everything above is stored there.
A parent sees the weekly report about their own teen. Our team can see the data to run the service and write those reports. Nobody else does, and no one else's data ever appears in your report.
Keeping it, and deleting it
We keep your data while you have an account, so your progress carries on. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time:
- On the web: sign in at getfocushour.com, open Settings and choose Delete account. A monthly plan is cancelled first, so you're never charged again.
- Or ask us: email hello@focushour.app from your account's email address, and we'll delete it.
Deleting removes your account, your practice and answers, your working and screens, your progress, your payment records and the films you watched, from our servers straight away. It can't be undone. Stripe keeps its own record of a payment.
Students and parents
FocusHour is made for high school students preparing for the SAT, usually 15 to 18 years old. It isn't meant for children under 13. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent's or guardian's agreement. A parent who wants their teen's data deleted can ask us at hello@focushour.app.
Security
Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS). The app contains no secret keys: the coach is reached through our own server. Access to the data is limited to the people who run FocusHour.
Changes and contact
If this changes, we'll update this page and its date. Questions or requests: hello@focushour.app.
